I am excited to announce the start of the 2025–2026 wrestling season! On behalf of Team Tulsa Wrestling Club, I’d like to officially invite you and your child to join us for what’s shaping up to be our biggest and most exciting year yet.

While our club remains unaffiliated with any school district, we’re proud to continue practicing inside the Bishop Kelley High School wrestling room—a dedicated, four-mat facility built specifically for wrestling. Wrestlers from all areas are welcome, regardless of school affiliation.

Momentum Like Never Before.
As we begin our ninth season, Team Tulsa is operating at a level few clubs in the country can match. In fact, based on TrackWrestling’s national rankings, Team Tulsa is currently recognized as the #1 ranked youth wrestling club in the nation. 
During the 2024–2025 season:

• 🏆 48 OKWA State Qualifiers
• 🥇 9 Individual State Champions
• 🥈 12 Runners-up
• 🥉 21 Additional Placers
• 🏆 2 OKWA Team Titles
  • Boys: 6U–2nd, 8U–1st, 10U–4th, 12U–8th, 15U–3rd
  • Girls: 6U–1st, 8U–4th, 10U–1st, 15U–7th

We also made our mark nationally:

 Wrestling Year-Round, The Right Way.
Our club runs year-round, offering training in Folkstyle (fall through winter) and the Olympic styles of Freestyle and Greco-Roman (spring and summer). Whether your child is brand new or a national-caliber competitor, they’ll find a structured, positive environment with clear expectations and a path to growth.
We offer monthly memberships for individuals and families, and welcome boys and girls from ages 4 to 18 of all skill levels.

A Club Built, Not Borrowed.
We don’t poach. We don’t promise spots. We don’t rent kids for duals.
We build our own athletes.
That means no politics, no games, and no favoritism. Every wrestler receives equal access to coaching, mat time, and opportunity. Many of our coaches have children in the program—but every athlete is treated like they’re ours.
If you’ve grown tired of the “daddy ball” culture or felt like your child wasn’t getting a fair shake, this is your chance for a clean slate in a competitive but supportive environment.

Why It Matters.

Those new to the program or just wanting to try it out, fill out a waiver and submit it in person or email to ashleywade.ttwc@gmail.com prior to practice.  We have plenty of loaner shoes if you do not have any of your own yet. 

Once you have decided you would like your child to participate, there is a one time registration fee of $25 per wrestler which includes a team t shirt.  This needs to be paid asap and can be done online or by placing cash or check into the "red box" hanging on the wall in the lobby. 

Monthly membership subscriptions are $125/individual and $200/family. Memberships are due at the first of each month. There will be a 10% late charge applied for memberships 10 days late.

GEAR

We have limited shirts and singlets in stock. New gear orders are taken at the beginning of each new season. 

USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIPS

A full USA Wrestling memberships are required to participate in any Olympic Style event. 

ALL COACHES will need to have a current background check, current “SafeSport” certificate and USAW Leader Membership in order to coach at practice or at tournaments.

Also, everyone has done a great job at getting their PayPal subscriptions completed. That is a huge help!! If you haven't paid me... SHAME!

1. Everyone will need to fill out a new waiver for this season. You can fill one out at your next practice or download one from the website and email it to Ashley at ashleywade.ttwc@gmail.com


2. We are implementing a one time registration fee of $25 per wrestler. The fee will go toward OKWA membership (insurance) and a new team t-shirt. This needs to be paid asap and can be done online or by placing cash or check into the "red box" hanging on the wall in the lobby. 


3. PayPal monthly Subscriptions are 105/mo per individual and 180/family. Memberships are due at the first of the month. The additional $5 is to cover processing fees. Cash or check payments are still $100 and $175 respectively.


4. There will be a 10% late charge applied for memberships 10 days late.


5. Membership rates will increase in November to $125 per individual or $200 a family.

There are two ways to avoid paying the increased membership rates.

1. By pre-paying for the folkstyle/freestyle season in full.

OR

2. By Locking in the monthly subscription before the increase in November. The 105 button will expire October 2.

Families need to be in “good standing” before they can register for the new season. If you have an outstanding balance (or think you do) please get with me ASAP.

TEAM TULSA VETERANS DAY CLASSIC

I am overwhelmed by the response to my leadership request... NOT!  The tournament committee still needs help in the following areas:
1. Concession Stand
recruit and coordinate concession staff, adhere to Muskogee HD code, determine items to be sold, coordinate pick and drop off of rental equipment. 
2. Hospitality/ food donations
recruit and Coordinate hospitality staff, solicit donations from restaurants and parents,  
3. Admissions (door)
recruit and Coordinate admissions staff, procure wristbands and change boxes, must be trustworthy, responsible and friendly. 
4. Advertising/fundraising/sponsors
 Develop marketing strategy for event, find new and existing ad revenue avenues
5. Awards 
recruit and Coordinate award staff, procure awards for the tournament and hand them out
6. Security
recruit and Coordinate security staff, check wrist bands, points of entry, and parking lot 
7. EMT/male nurse
Kori Drew said he's got this, maybe. 
8. Score tables
recruit and Coordinate staff for ALL scoring tables for all sessions, recruit more help and teach them how to keep score, we might have to solicit other teams to help./
9. Setup (Friday evening)
recruit and coordinate set up staff, tote and tape mats, run wires, carry stuff
10. Tear down (Sunday evening)
The opposite of set up... still have to carry stuff tho.
11. Custodial
Clean up spills, and vomit. Dump trash cans and maintain the restrooms.

In the Bulletins I will write about practices, upcoming events, results, volunteer needs, fees/memberships and miscellaneous topics as the season progresses. 

I know these bulletins can be lengthy but please do your best to stay abreast of the current happenings within the Team Tulsa Organization. Do you know how many times I answer the same question after it has already been addressed in the bulletin or when the information is on the website? Don't be that guy. 

NEW PRACTICE SCHEDULE STARTING THIS WEEK.

Couple quick highlights

• No beginners class on Wednesday. 6-8 advanced only.
• Addition a Tuesday/Thursday 4:25-5:25 beginners class.

​   I am pleased to announce the start of a new wrestling season, and on behalf of Team Tulsa Wrestling Club I would like to officially invite you and your child to participate. The club is not affiliated with any particular school system, public or private. Wrestlers from all areas are welcome to participate. Click here for memberships and here for practice times.
 
​   I am very excited for the upcoming season, and I truly believe that the Team Tulsa program has a lot of momentum heading into its 7th season. Our program is well established, and I want to continue to work with and develop your athletes into competitive wrestlers while also helping them to become better young men and women in the process.
 
  The wrestling club is suited for boys and girls, experienced or otherwise. We have seasonal and year-round memberships for individuals and families.
 
  The "wrestling season", generally speaking, begins after football in late October early November and extends into February. Folkstyle competitions are held locally within the metro area at different schools and event centers. Click here for team schedule.  
 
  Team Tulsa Wrestling Club creates a culture that becomes very much like an extended family. Wrestlers, parents, and coaches form a lifetime bond of shared memories revolving around the great sport of wrestling. It has been my pleasure to be involved with wrestling for over 25 years, from competing at the elementary, high school, and college level to coaching the next generation of great wrestlers. Let me say that my most recent experiences as the coach of young wrestlers is the absolute best experience I have had with the sport to date. The youngsters are outstanding, and the parents are very supportive in all aspects, which has led to a very rewarding experience for everyone involved.
 
   Lastly, the Club is more than just a "name" or a "location". It is the young wrestlers, their parents, and the passion we all share for this sport that makes our program great. Many of the coaches do have children in the program, but each wrestler is still assured of equal time, instruction, and treatment devoid of any "politics". We as coaches are here for you guys and not vice versa, and our mission is to help develop competitive wrestlers as well as teach and instill important values that will last a lifetime.
 
   I am very excited for the upcoming season, and I truly believe that the club is poised for even greater success. Last season, we RE-captured several team titles at the historic Sperry Open, Battle of the Belt, and nearly swept all five boys age divisions at the 44th annual OKWA State Tournament, taking 1st in 8U & 10U and runner-up in 6U, 12U & 15U. Sixty-two of our athletes qualified for the State meet, some of whom had little to no prior wrestling experience before joining the team. The club claimed 6 more individual champions than last year, totaling 10 state champs and 12 second place finishes.  Statistically, TTWC has crowned 44 individual boy's State Champions, 26 girl state champions in the past 6 seasons... 
 
   Wrestling is undoubtedly the closest sport that mimics life, and it could be the hardest experience your young wrestler ever endures. Wrestling for Team Tulsa definitely provides discipline, confidence, and a newfound respect for life as they continue through their journey to becoming adults. It would be my honor to have your child compete as a Team Tulsa member, and I hope that you will consider what our program has to offer.
